Have you ever thought to yourself, “I really don’t want my wedding photos to feel stiff,” or “I want to look at my wedding photos and actually feel the emotions from that moment”? I hear this from couples all the time.
More and more, people are moving away from overly posed, traditional wedding photos and looking for something that feels raw, dynamic, and full of movement. They want to see the laughs, the tears, the silly faces they make at each other. The little in-between moments, and most importantly, their guests.
Because that’s a huge part of it. Couples don’t just want to remember what the day looked like, they want to see how it felt. The reactions, the energy in the room, the people who were there to celebrate with them. That’s what truly brings a wedding gallery to life.
But I know some people have reservations about going candid.
“What if I make an ugly face?”
“What if I’m too aware of the camera and end up looking stiff?”
First, I’m here to tell you that every single one of my couples is beautiful, truly. And more than that, I make it my mission to make sure you feel natural and comfortable throughout the entire experience.
Because honestly, people look their best when they’re just being themselves. When you’re in the moment, not thinking about the camera, just enjoying what’s happening around you.
There are so many in-between moments I could share, but here are some of my favorites.

Having wedding photos that reflect the true nature of your day is so important when it comes to preserving those memories. Because at the end of the day, we aren’t just capturing your wedding, we’re documenting it.
Of course, I love posed photos, and so do my clients. But the majority of the galleries I deliver are unposed, moments that are 100% unequivocally you.
When you look back at photos of you reading your vows, seeing each other for the first time walking down the aisle, or dancing your butts off, you won’t just think, “oh I remember that.” You’ll think, “wow, I remember exactly how I felt in that moment.”
And that’s the difference.
Wedding days are one of the happiest days in a person’s life, and for many, their one and only wedding day. I make sure your photos don’t just exist as a cute memory to look back on, but as something that truly transports you right back into it.
Every wedding day is different, and every couple brings their own story into it, which is what makes these in-between moments so special. If this is the kind of photography you’re drawn to, I’d love for you to look through more of my wedding blogs and see how different days come together. And if you’re planning your wedding in 2026/2027 and feel like this approach aligns with you, I would love to hear what you have in mind.
